Teaching Assistant - £14,047.63

Midday Supervisor - £2,766.13

Hours of work: 25 hours per week as Teaching Assistant and 5 hours per week as Midday Supervisor.

Contract type: 38 weeks per year (term time only)

We currently have a vacancy for a passionate, creative and dedicated Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor, who thrives on helping students realise their potential at Sawtry Junior Academy! You will work under the direction of the Class Teacher, to enable access to learning for students and to aid the Class Teacher in the management of students and the classroom.

The Opportunity

  • Supervise activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all children to reach their potential.
  • Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships.
  • Join a dedicated, enthusiastic team, within a supportive MAT.
  • To supervise children during their lunch periods.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of all pupils.
  • Arrange and supervise activities, under direction of the Cover Manager.

The ideal candidate

  • Holds a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Understands how children learn.
  • Is skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to develop and sustain positive relationships with pupils.

Although our purpose is to promote the development of academic and practical skills, we also seek to guide children in their social and moral development. Between the ages of 7 and 11 children quickly grow and develop in maturity. The environment we provide for the children promotes independence, self-motivation, and confidence. We aim to develop the numerous social skills that are necessary for children to become responsible members of society
