Level 2 Teaching Assistant (1 x Permanent and 1 x Fixed Term) job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants to join our highly dedicated SEND team. Duties will include in class support for SEND pupils to give them every opportunity to make expected progress by accessing the whole curriculum by, under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff, preparing individualised and/or differentiating teaching resources for use in class.

2 posts have become available, 1 permanent and 1 fixed term until 31 August 2026. Both roles will be working 30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (39 working weeks per year). What we are looking for

We are looking for individuals who have a very flexible and enthusiastic approach to suit the varying and sometimes complex needs of our pupils and be prepared to undertake any associated tasks as required. You will be a confident communicator as you will need to liaise with parents and carers in a manner that will support our SEND pupils in their learning. We are looking for people who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our brilliant team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students.

To succeed in this post, you will:

  • Have experience of working within any of the primary Key Stages - EYFS/KS1/KS2
  • Have a broad and balanced education and be able to evidence, via original certificates, that they hold Level 2 (or above) qualifications in Maths and English
  • Be able to address the needs of our pupils by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for pupils, to understand their needs and respond accordingly
  • Be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Have the ability to use IT to a proficient standard
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and independently
