What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 SEND teaching assistant to join Meynell Primary School on 1st September 2026 to cover maternity leave.
Skills, knowledge & personal qualities
Have a diverse set of skills which will enable you to be flexibleworking in the classroom.
Be passionate about teaching and learning
Be able to work creatively and strategically and collaborate withteachers
Be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn
Be positive, with a ‘can do’ attitude
Be committed to improving the life chances of every child
Have experience of working in SEND
Have excellent classroom skills including high expectations and acommitment to challenging every learner through an exciting,inspiring enquiry-based curriculum
Have outstanding interpersonal skills that motivate and inspirechildren to achieve their very best
Have highly effective communication, organisational and teamworkskills.
Qualifications and Experience
Meet teaching assistant standards or equivalentqualification or experience
Excellent numeracy/literacy skills – GCSEs or equivalent to NVQlevel 2 in English andmaths.
Training in the relevant learning strategies
Experience of SEND

Meynell Primary School is situated in the north of the city and benefits greatly from our extensive 8 acres of land. Meynell is a two-form entry with an average of 480 pupils, including nursery. Nursery is housed in a separate building on the school site with a two-year-old provision for up to 40 pupils and a three to four-year-old provision for up to 104 pupils. There is currently a Headteacher, four Assistant Heads and an extensive SEND, Safeguarding and Inclusion Team.

At Meynell we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing a broad, balanced and creative curriculum, ensuring children achieve through enjoyment of learning, and challenge themselves to meet and exceed their goals.
