What skills and experience we're looking for

Our schools federation is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our KS2 team at Carterknowle Junior School. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity for someone who thrives on helping children succeed, working flexibly across two days per week to support general learning routines both in and out of the classroom. You will play an important role in day-to-day classroom life, helping children access the curriculum and supporting their physical and emotional well-being. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils inside the classroom during whole-class lessons, helping them stay focused, follow instructions, and complete tasks.
  • Assisting children outside the classroom during practical lessons, outdoor learning, and playground duties.
  • Encouraging pupil learning and progress by keeping children engaged, motivated, and building their independent learning skills.
  • Maintaining a sharp focus on health and safety and safeguarding, serving as a vigilant pair of eyes to keep our environment secure at all times.
