What skills and experience we're looking for
Plantation Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is ambitious and has an excellent work ethic to join their team as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (EYFS) from 6th January 2024 (or as soon as possible). The successful candidate will work in the nursery to support the physical and general care of individuals and groups of children, including those with special educational needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide support for pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, dressing, feeding and administering medication
- Establish positive relationships with pupils and encourage their interaction and engagement in activities
- Support the development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Provide feedback to pupils based on their progress and achievements
- Assist in creating a supportive and orderly classroom environment
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, filing and record keeping
- Support the use of ICT in learning activities and help develop pupils’ competence in its use
- Promote good pupil behaviour and deal promptly with conflicts and incidents
- Assist with the supervision of pupils outside of lesson times, including before and after school

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children in an educational setting
- NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification/experience
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including first aid
