St Anthony’s Catholic Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, child-centred and excellent teaching assistant with experience of supporting children in school. With excellent behaviour, a fantastic team of staff and children who enjoy learning, St Anthony’s is a wonderful place to work.

We are looking for an individual who can support learning in KS1. The practitioner will need to be flexible with working on a 1:1 basis, small group or whole-class basis, and be a great team member. You will be expected to contribute to the teaching of phonics. You will be experienced in supporting learning in a primary school setting and join our happy and forward-thinking academy and become part of our dedicated team to:

Work under the direction and guidance of teaching / senior staff in supporting pupils working across the academy, to ensure they make excellent progress.

Contribute to the strong Catholic ethos of our academy.

Meet pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs as well as their pastoral and welfare needs. This includes working closely with staff, parents and outside agencies where necessary to promote effective safeguarding of all children.

Develop good relationships with pupils, staff, parents, representatives, directors and primary MAT partners.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and pre-employment medical clearance. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), online searches will also be carried out for shortlisted candidates. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
