What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated, resourceful and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our experienced staff team to work in the first instance as a 1:1 with a child but not solely.
You must demonstrate a good knowledge of the requirements of working with children and in a 1:1 role, whilst having good planning and observations skills together with experience of working with children across the primary age range. As a result of your experience you will have the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, children and parents and feel passionately about the rights of every child to achieve and thrive in education.
Every day you will be supporting a child with complex needs to access a bespoke curriculum, build relationships with those around them and translate the world around them in a meaningful way.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 2 childcare qualification;
- Experience of working with children with additional needs;
- The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues;
- A commitment to equal opportunities;
- The ability to work in a team but also to use your own initiative;
- Organisational and time management skills;
- The ability to focus learning in a proactive, creative and positive manner as well as evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities;
