Level 3 SEND TA at Kiveton Park Meadows Junior School job summary
About This Role
We are seeking 2 Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex special educational needs and disabilities. The role involves supporting pupils to access learning, follow routines and work towards the outcomes identified within their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo, you will support pupils with a range of needs which may include communication and interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, sensory needs and learning difficulties. The successful candidate will implement agreed strategies, contribute to record keeping and support pupils throughout the school day.
This role requires a calm, consistent and resilient individual who can build positive working relationships with pupils whilst maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
You will work collaboratively with school staff, families and external professionals to ensure that support provided is effective and responsive to pupils' needs. The role may involve adapting learning activities, supporting personal development and assisting pupils in managing their engagement, communication and behaviour.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with children with SEND and who can demonstrate patience, professionalism and a practical approach to supporting individual needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
Training and Development
Appropriate training and guidance will be provided, including SEND-specific training relevant to the pupils you support. Positive handling training will also be provided where required.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work within an established school team with access to professional development through the Trust. This is a demanding but rewarding role for individuals who are committed to supporting children with additional needs in an educational setting.
