What skills and experience we're looking for
The Holt House and Carterknowle Schools Federation is looking for a senior teaching assistant to join our staff and to be based at Carterknowle Junior School.
You will need to have experience of working with primary aged children and supporting them effectively. You will be expected to be skilled in working with individuals, with small groups and in supporting the teacher with the whole class. You will need to have high expectations for what junior children can achieve both in their learning and in their independence, while being able to provide good pastoral support and care.
As a senior TA you will assist class teachers with preparation, assessment, supporting with adaptive learning and delivering interventions. You will be called upon to supervise a class for short periods as ad hoc cover. Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential for this post.
