Levendale Primary School is an average-sized primary school with one class per year group from FS2 (Reception) to Year 6 and a 26-place Nursery. The school was built in 1976 and is situated in a private residential development on the edge of Yarm, which lies in the south-western part of the Borough of Stockton. The school is set in large grounds with excellent facilities for sport and a range of outdoor play areas for the children along with a kitchen garden and wildlife area. This is a friendly, happy school which aims to help children develop respect and concern for others whilst making full use of every opportunity to explore and develop their own potential. The school’s core principles are ‘Be respectful; be ready; be safe’ under our overall ethos and vision of ‘Being the best we can be’. School links with the community are strong: there is an extremely active PTA and parental involvement is encouraged in the school. Children are admitted from the immediate neighbourhood, from the various other areas of Yarm, from the nearby villages of Maltby and Hilton, the large residential estate of Ingleby Barwick and also Thornaby. Pupils generally progress from Levendale to nearby Conyers School. Standards and expectations are high.
