An opportunity has arisen in our school to enhanced our SEND provision. We require a Teaching Assistant to work with our specialist team to support the education and development of our children who have complex needs, including Autism and Global Developmental delay.

We wish to appoint a teaching assistant who:

Already hold a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent

Has a passion to work with children with complex needs, including Autism

Has some knowledge of autism and be willing to learn further

Has some experience of using alternative augmentative communication systems such as PECs

Demonstrates a good understanding of child development and the learning process

Has experience of and the ability to deal positively with children, parents and other professionals who are involved in the children’s education

Is enthusiastic and willing to motivate and inspire our children

Is an excellent team player and role model and be able to work collaboratively with all school staff

Is flexible to the needs of the children and have a commitment to their wellbeing and development
