SEN Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching assistant initially for a fixed term period from 24th February 2025 until 31st July 2025.

You will be friendly, enthusiastic and be able to build a rapport with pupils. You will be expected to be a good role model to our pupils working with them in a reliable, committed and dedicated way, showing a genuine interest in their continuing development and well-being.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational, forward thinking SEN teaching assistant who prides themselves in working collaboratively, supporting children in building foundations for happy and successful life-long learners. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills in a caring and supportive school. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working with high- complex SEN children, specifically autism.

Our children receive a personalised curriculum which includes a hybrid approach to learning. Children follow the National curriculum wherever possible, alongside specialist interventions including, sensory circuits, attention autism, TEACCH Trays and PECS. The ideal candidate would have experience of these specialist strategies. However, we are able to offer training and support to the right candidate, to learn on the job.

Monday – Friday

8.30am – 3.30pm (32.5 hours per week)

We are looking for someone who :

  • has an NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • has an understanding of high-complex needs and can celebrate all achievements that all groups of children make.
  • has experience of working as a SEN teaching assistant
  • has a cheerful, warm and welcoming personality with the ability to communicate with children and adults alike
  • is reliable, efficient and flexible
  • can work in a creative and inspirational way with high expectations for all
  • Will be committed to the strong Christian ethos of our schools
  • Speak fluent English as in accordance with part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)
