Level 3 Teaching Assistants job summary

Due to our continuing growth, we are looking to recruit to a Level 3 Teaching Assistant position within our School. Our Level 3 Teaching Assistant will work alongside the Class Teacher and Level 2 Teaching Assistants to promote the involvement of the pupils in the social and academic processes of the School, to enable the pupils to become more independent learners and to help raise the standard of achievement for all our pupils.

We are looking to appoint candidates with a General Level of education to GCSE Grade 4 – 9 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and with experience of supporting children with additional needs in a school environment. We are looking for candidates who have knowledge of special needs, and dealing with challenging behaviours. We would like candidates to have experience of leading a group or class within a School setting.

Please note that these posts are permanent part time posts (39 weeks inclusive of 5 training days). The roles will be for 33.75 hours per week, with ½ hour unpaid lunch break. The working pattern is as follows:

*Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 8.40 am – 3.30 pm

*Tuesday – 8.40 am – 5.00 pm (staff training/update from 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm)

*Thursday – 8.40 am – 4.00 pm (staff class time from 3.30 pm – 4.00 pm)

All applicants must be able to work from 8:40am until the appropriate finish time.

Successful candidates will be appointed to work at any of the Rowan Gate School sites. As far as possible staff will be allocated to a specific site on an annual basis but travel between sites may be necessary on occasion.
