About the Role

King’s Leadership Academy Bolton opened a state-of-the-art school building in 2024, an inspiring environment designed to support our mission of academic excellence and character education.

The Library is the intellectual heart of our school, a dynamic, inclusive space that nurtures a love of reading, supports independent learning, and enriches our knowledge-rich curriculum. We seek an enthusiastic Librarian who can curate and evolve this space to inspire a new generation of curious, informed, and confident learners.

You will work closely with teaching staff across all departments to integrate library resources into the wider academic and character education programmes. You will also be responsible for leading initiatives such as author visits, book clubs, and literacy events that enhance the cultural life of our school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school library, including cataloguing, shelving, and book loans.
  • Promote a reading culture through exciting campaigns and initiatives.
  • Support students with research, digital literacy, and information sourcing.
  • Collaborate with staff to provide tailored resources that complement schemes of work.
  • Facilitate student engagement with the King’s Adventure and character development curriculum through reading and exploration.

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for literature, learning, and student empowerment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and digital literacy.
  • A proactive and creative approach to promoting reading and research.
  • Experience in a library setting (school or public) or relevant qualifications preferred.
  • A commitment to the values of ASPIRE: Aspiration, Self-awareness, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, and Endeavour.
