Librarian (Part Time) job summary

We are looking for a librarian who will play a key role in setting up and managing our new library space, which is moving from its current location in summer 2025. The librarian will report to the Head of English. They will be the main point of contact for students using the library during lunchtime periods and after school. The librarian will work to promote and support reading for pleasure across the school.

We require someone who is organised in their working practice and can work on their own initiative. A library qualification is not required, but experience would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working with young people aged 11-18 years and has a love of reading and a good knowledge of young adult fiction.

Please see attached job description for a full description of the role.

If you wish to discuss the vacancy further, please contact Stella Clark at clarks@tas.herts.sch.uk, or click the Apply Now link at the top of the page.

Closing date: 9am on Wednesday, 4th June 2025. Interviews will be conducted shortly afterwards. Early applications are encouraged as the academy reserves the right to call suitable candidates to interview and to appoint prior to the closing date.

Please note that we are currently recruiting for two part-time positions; a reprographics assistant and a librarian. We will also consider applicants who are looking to work full time by combining both roles (e.g. mornings in reprographics and afternoons in the library).
