Library Assistant job summary
We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic person to work alongside the school’s Librarian supporting students with their access to, and enjoyment of, reading. The Library Assistant will help develop and maintain the library provision and will play an important part in helping students discover the joys of reading by finding the right books for them.
You will need to demonstrate that you:
- have a love of reading and enjoy sharing that passion with young readers;
- want to make a positive difference for the benefit of students;
- have the desire and enthusiasm to play an active and collaborative role in contributing to a warm and welcoming School Library;
- have the interpersonal skills required to inspire and motivate students;
- are keen and able to embed enjoyment and success in learning.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role.
