Hours: 37 hours/week | Term Time Only (39 weeks/year)

Astrea Academy Dearne is seeking a highly effective Literacy Tutor to join our committed and ambitious team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality, targeted tuition to individuals and small groups of scholars. You will play a key role in supporting identified students through structured interventions, helping to raise attainment and close gaps in literacy.

The ideal candidate will hold Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, with QTS or HLTA status desirable. You will have significant experience working with primary-aged children and/or Key Stage 3 scholars, including those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, targeted literacy tuition to individuals and small groups of scholars.

Plan and implement structured intervention programmes to support identified students.

Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to meet individual learning needs.

Work closely with teaching staff to align interventions with curriculum goals.

Support scholars with additional needs, ensuring inclusive and accessible learning.

Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress, and outcomes.

Contribute to the wider academic and pastoral support within the academy.

Promote a positive learning environment that encourages confidence and engagement in literacy.

Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to the wellbeing of all scholars.
