Lunch Time Assistant/ Playleader job summary

Purpose of the role

To care for the children during the lunch time break including; effective supervision of children and supporting their learning through play by preparing, providing and overseeing suitable play activities in an appropriate environment.

To supervise and support children at play ensuring their safety and access to learning.

To encourage children to interact with others and engage in play activities.

To establish good relationships with children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs

To organise games/activities for groups of children, skipping, ball games etc during indoor and outdoor play.

To communicate effectively with pupils and school staff.

Shibden Head is one of three schools serving the village of Queensbury, on the outskirts of
Bradford. Queensbury is one of the highest parishes in England, with views to the hills of Brontë
