Lunchtime Assistant job summary
Hughenden Primary School are part of Kings Education Trust.
This is a crucial role to support children's wellbeing in the lunch hall, promoting healthy eating and a happy lunchtime environment.
Purpose of the post:
To support our children to have fun at lunchtime, encouraging them to enjoy the social aspect of the lunch hall and promote healthy eating.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake the following duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of food, safety and hygiene standards and be able to work with a degree of independence showing initiative and enthusiasm.
Setting up the food hall
Helping with food service
Clearing down at end of service
Leaving all surfaces clean and sanitised to comply with the Food Standard Agency

Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity, loyalty, discretion and professionalism
Assist in implementing school policies and the implementation of the School Development Plan
Support the school to ensure the whole school community is committed to its vision and values, encouraging them to achieve their best and help secure the best outcomes for children and the success of the school.
Delivery:
Follow the schools’ policies and procedures
Use encouragement and praise with children to promote positive behaviour
Be a first aider - training can be arranged
Participate in arrangements for further training and professional development
Report any areas of concern including safeguarding and know who to report to
Be a team member
Attend Performance Management meetings when required
Adhere to the school safeguarding procedures and attend child protection training when required
