What skills and experience we're looking for

As a Lunchtime Learning Lead, you will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for pupils during the lunchtime period. This position involves supporting children’s physical, emotional, and social development through structured play and learning activities, while promoting independence and positive behaviour. You will assist with personal care needs, encourage communication and interaction, and ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times. Working closely with teaching staff and colleagues, you’ll help make lunchtime a positive and enriching part of the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-quality care and supervision for pupils during lunchtime.
  • Assist pupils with feeding and personal care needs in a safe and dignified manner.
  • Set up and supervise stimulating play and learning activities that promote social skills and physical development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and inclusion.
  • Monitor pupil well-being and respond promptly to any concerns.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained, including safeguarding protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Report incidents, accidents, or hazards promptly and maintain accurate records.

Education Impact Academy Trust is a MAT incorporating Wilson Stuart School, Queensbury School and Mayfield School. Wilson Stuart School is an Ofsted designated outstanding all age (2 – 25 years) Special School which provides very high-quality education for 257 pupils and young people who have physical disabilities, and/or complex medical conditions. Queensbury School provides for 245 students who have MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health). Mayfield School educates children and young people, who have a range of learning difficulties, between the ages of 3 and 19 and have approximately 300 students on roll.
