Lunchtime Play Leader - Fixed Term until 31.08.2026 job summary
The Lunchtime Play Leaders job is to create a safe, stimulating, and fun environment for children's playtime, particularly during lunchtimes, by supervising them, providing resources, and facilitating social, active, and creative play experiences. Key duties include supervising children, ensuring they have a pleasant eating experience, setting up play areas, and working with the Play Coordinator to manage equipment, behaviour, and incidents.
Core responsibilities
Oversee children in dining areas and playgrounds to ensure their safety and well-being.
Encourage and facilitate a variety of activities, including creative, social, and active play, using resources provided through the OPAL program.
Help manage and set up the play environment, including a diverse range of resources, and work with children to get their input on what they would like to play with.
Assist children in the dining hall to ensure they have a pleasant eating experience and help clear tables for others.
Support the school policy for positive behaviour management and record and report incidents that occur during playtime.
Work as part of a team, cooperating with the Play Coordinator and other staff to ensure all duties are completed.
Act in accordance with school policies for child protection and report any concerns to designated personnel.
