Job Opportunity: Lunchtime Supervisor

John Henry Newman Academy, in the heart of Littlemore, is a vibrant, happy and exciting place to be for children and their families. We are a two-form entry school for children aged between 3 and 11. The Academy serves the inner city of Oxford and the communities of Littlemore, Rosehill and Blackbird Leys.

Are you kind, caring, and great with children? JHN is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support our pupils during the busy lunchtime period, helping to ensure they are safe, happy, and well cared for.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervising children in the dining hall, playground, and during wet playtimes
  • Encouraging healthy eating and good table manners
  • Supporting positive behaviour and social interaction
  • Promoting the school’s values and creating a safe, inclusive environment
  • Administering basic first aid when necessary (training can be provided)

  • Enjoys working with children and is committed to their well-being
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills
  • Can be calm, patient, and proactive
  • Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Holds or is willing to complete first aid and safeguarding training

This is a part-time role (10 hours per week) .
