The RoleWe are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team. This important role helps ensure that lunchtime is a safe, positive and enjoyable experience for all pupils. You will supervise children during lunch periods, promote positive behaviour and support their wellbeing both in the dining hall and on the playground.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce the school's expectations.
- Support children in the dining hall and promote good manners.
- Monitor playground activities and help create an inclusive environment.
- Assist with the organisation of playground games and activities.
- Respond appropriately to minor incidents and report concerns when necessary.
- Support pupils in developing positive relationships with their peers.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
- A positive, patient and caring approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Confidence in supervising groups of children in a busy environment.
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with incidents.
- Previous experience working with children would be beneficial but is not essential.

We have developed a strong and caring whole school community, which has helped us go from strength to strength. The thoughtful and supportive staff ensure children are at the centre of everything we do. We want to provide our children with the best start in life and support them to become ambitious and prepare for life beyond the classroom.
At Hartley Brook we have high expectations of both learning and progress and ensure children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We have an inclusive curriculum and all children regardless of their ability are able to access all areas of the curriculum. Hartley Brooks values (tenacity, scholarship, unity, responsibility, and curiosity) underpin everything we do on a daily basis. We aim to enrich the lives of our children by providing opportunities to attend extracurricular activities. Children demonstrate true resilience and perseverance and have achieved some amazing results in sports events.
