Lunchtime Supervisor job summary
Cherry Oak is a day school for pupils aged 4 to 11 years who have special education needs and/or disabilities arising from cognition and learning difficulties including severe learning difficulties and speech, communication and language difficulties. We are part of a Federation with Victoria School and College which gives us many opportunities for collaborative work and sharing good practice.
The successful candidate will be assisting with feeding at lunchtime and playground supervision.
The ideal candidate for these positions will have:
a passion for supporting children;
good communication skills;
enthusiasm, commitment, reliability and a willingness to learn and work
Work using own initiative, and as part of a team
Support the varied, complex needs of our children and pupils
Communicate clearly and effectively with pupils and colleagues
Take ownership of tasks
Work flexibly to meet the needs of the school
This role will ideally suit people who wish to work in a vibrant SEND environment.

Cherry Oak School is a primary school for children with special education needs (SEN). All pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school has specialist provision for children with severe cognition and learning difficulties and those with Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties. Approximately half of the pupils are diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum. With capacity for 110 pupils, Cherry Oak School caters for pupils from Birmingham and beyond.
