Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

Hours: 5 hours a week, 5 days a week, term time only.

Raunds Park Infant School is a happy, successful and busy Infant school where we are all passionate about raising expectations and aspirations. As a school, we pride ourselves on placing children at the centre of all we do, focusing on their academic and personal development and reaching their potential in both.

We are looking for a Lunchtime Supervisor to actively support pupils in the dining room, playground and throughout the school premises during the lunchtime period.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide a safe environment for children and take responsibility for supervising and assisting children in designated areas around the school

  • To make decisions to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the lunchtime period

  • To monitor children in the dining room in order to encourage children to eat healthy, balanced lunches and adopt good eating manners

  • Set up and clear away tables and benches/chairs in dining areas

  • Encourage the children to treat each other with respect and follow the school’s behaviour policies at all times

About You

You will need to:

  • Have experience of supervising children as a parent or carer or in a working role

  • Have knowledge and understanding of managing the behaviour of groups of children

  • Work as part of a group and individually

  • Encourage high standards of pupil behaviour at all times
