Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

We are looking to appoint a lunchtime supervisor to start as soon as possible at St Thomas CE Primary School.

You will be friendly, enthusiastic and be able to build a rapport with pupils. You will be expected to be a good role model to our pupils working with them in a reliable, committed and dedicated way, showing a genuine interest in their continuing development and well-being.

You will work as part of a team assisting the Head of School. Lunchtime Supervisors are responsible for supervising pupils in the lunch hall and outside in the playground areas. The role is about supporting our pupils in continuing to develop their personal and social skills.

Supervisors support pupils in following routines around the school during lunchtime. In addition, the role includes supporting pupils in establishing and following school procedures and routines in the dining area and in the playground.

We offer a friendly and supportive working environment with a commitment to the professional development of all staff.

The role starts 11:15am – 1:15pm, Monday - Friday

We are looking to appoint a person who:

  • Loves children!
  • Has previous experience of working with children (desirable)
  • Has a cheerful, warm and welcoming personality with the ability to communicate with children and adults alike
  • is reliable, efficient, and flexible
  • is able to work as part of a team and is willing to learn
  • speak fluent English as in accordance with part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)
