Waseley Hills High School is seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced MAB ASD Achievement Assistant to join our SEND team and work within our specialist MAB provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a secure understanding of autism and experience of working directly with autistic children or young people in an educational setting. You will play an important role in helping our pupils to access learning, overcome barriers, develop confidence and independence, and participate fully in school life. Working closely with the MAB Lead, SENDCo and teaching staff, you will support pupils within mainstream lessons as well as deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions. You will use autism-informed approaches to respond to individual learning, communication, sensory, social and emotional needs and help ensure that every pupil receives consistent, high-quality support.

We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, flexible and positive, who can build strong and trusting relationships with young people and who genuinely believes in their potential. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to help our pupils achieve the best possible outcomes. Online checks will be carried out on shortlisted candidates and an enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate.
