Management Accountant job summary
At Creating Tomorrow Multi-Academy Trust, we believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential, regardless of their learning needs. Our mission is simple: Helping to create everyone's tomorrow. As a specialist SEND trust, we are committed to transforming lives through high-quality education, collaboration and an unwavering focus on the individual.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Management Accountant to join our central finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability and strategic development of our family of special schools and specialist post-16 provision. Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer, school leaders and budget holders, you will provide high-quality financial information, analysis and advice that supports informed decision-making and helps ensure resources are directed where they have the greatest impact for children and young people.
You will lead on the preparation of timely and accurate management accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes, financial modelling and variance analysis. As a trusted finance business partner, you will work directly with school and central leaders to help them understand financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop sustainable plans that support both educational priorities and financial resilience.
The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to wider Trust improvement. You will support the development of financial systems, reporting and processes, help strengthen financial controls and provide key support for annual accounts, audit and regulatory returns. We are therefore looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone who:
- Produces accurate financial information and can translate complex financial data into practical advice for non-financial audiences.
- Builds strong relationships and quickly earns the confidence of leaders and colleagues.
- Combines sound professional judgement with a proactive and analytical approach.
- Has experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Enjoys identifying opportunities for improvement and helping others make informed decisions.
- Shares our commitment to inclusion, collaboration and achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
In return, we can offer:
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference across a specialist SEND Trust.
- A supportive and collaborative trust leadership team.
- A varied and influential role with exposure to both operational and strategic finance.
- Ongoing professional development and support towards further qualifications where appropriate.
- A competitive salary, Local Government Pension Scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
The role is based at our Trust offices in Kettering, although regular travel between Trust sites will be required. Flexibility, adaptability and a strong commitment to partnership working are essential.
If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact recruitment@creatingtomorrowtrust.co.uk and we will be pleased to arrange this.
Closing date: Thursday 29th October 2026
Anticipated interview date: w/b 9th November 2026
