Maternity Cover Teaching Assistant job summary

This contract is for a fixed term to cover the absence of the substantive post holder on Maternity Leave.  Should the employee resign, or return to duty before the final date above, your appointment will cease with at least one week’s notice.  T he contract will end on 31st August 2024  unless previously terminated in accordance with the General Conditions.  There will be no entitlement to an additional period of notice extending beyond the termination date.

We are seeking to appoint a Maternity Cover Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team who:

                     is flexible and willing to take risks

                     has an understanding and grasp of the National Curriculum

                      can communicate well with pupils, staff and parents alike

                     open to new ideas and approaches

                     is highly motivated and enthusiastic

                     has excellent classroom practice

                     is committed to meeting the needs of all pupils

                     helps pupils achieve their very best

                     is able to work as part of a team, sharing excellent practice

                     learns from others

                     is generous of their time and spirit

                     has had had experience of working with children

                     has at least GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent

                     preferable has the Supporting Teaching and Learning           Certificate (or equivalent)
