Mathematics Teacher job summary
The successful candidate will be part of a strong team of 14 staff.
Mathematics is taught in seven purpose built rooms, each incorporating an interactive whiteboard and data projector. In addition to the head of department and second in department there are raising achievement leaders across Key Stages.
In Years 7, 8 and 9, students are taught in a mixed ability setting. To help students in Years 7 & 8 who are not quite secondary ready we also have the facility for them to join one of three smaller groups who follow the same syllabus but with more support.
In Years 10 and 11 we have been successful with having two higher-tier classes whilst retaining mixed ability parallel groups. This allows us to manage the curriculum split whilst still enjoying the benefits to all ability levels of mixed ability teaching.
At Key Stage 5, 70% of our students’ study A level mathematics and follow the Edexcel A level course. The school is in the top twenty of schools nationally for the percentage of female students to choose to study A Level mathematics.
