We are looking for an enthusiastic Mathematics teacher with excellent subject knowledge who is able to respond positively and creatively to the expectations of the subject. The successful candidate will join our dedicated, positive and collaborative team to support the focus on securing progress for every student in and outside the classroom.
We are committed to appointing inspirational teachers where lessons take into consideration students’ prior knowledge to provide challenge for all. If you are an innovative practitioner with good organisation and communication skills then this could be the post for you.

Our first priority is safeguarding children. The school is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such any offer of employment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). John Hanson is a comprehensive community school for students aged 11 – 16. There are currently 980 students on roll; the teaching establishment is around 50 teachers, 55 support staff and a strong sense of community. The Leadership team are totally committed to the principles of comprehensive education and providing the very best learning experience we can for each individual. It is the school’s role to ensure that all students and staff are supported to reach their full potential.
The school can trace its origins back to 1569 with the foundation of Andover Grammar School. In the 1970s the grammar school became a comprehensive school and was renamed John Hanson School after an original benefactor of the Grammar School. In 2002 the school relocated to a greenfield site towards the outskirts of Andover, very close to the A303.
