What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a committed and resilient teacher of mathematics to join our team and make a real difference to the lives of young people in our community.
Are you ‘hungry, humble and smart’? Do you have the determination to build strong relationships, set high expectations, and ensure every student succeeds -no matter their starting point?
Lipson Co-operative Academy is a vibrant, community-focused school guided by our P.E.R.K. values- Prepared, Engaged, Respectful, Kind. We serve a diverse and often disadvantaged community, and we are proud of the inclusive, supportive environment we provide for both students and staff.
We use SPARX Maths to support teaching and learning, reducing planning workload and allowing teachers to focus on high-quality delivery, relationships, and intervention.
Our maths department is welcoming, supportive and ambitious. We work as a team, with egos left at the door, and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for all students.
At Lipson, staff feel valued and supported, while also being challenged to continually improve through a region-leading coaching programme. “100% of staff would recommend Lipson as a good place to work” – Edurio staff survey, December 2025
You’ll need to share our passion for improving the life chances of the children in our community and willing to contribute to enrichment activities. You will need to be relentless, positive and kind, and prepared to teach ‘The Lipson Way’.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong behaviour management and high expectations
- Builds positive relationships with students quickly
- Is resilient, consistent, and solution-focused
- Is committed to improving life chances for young people
- Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school
