About the role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Maths Teacher to join our faculty and inspire the next generation of mathematicians. In this role, you will translate the National Curriculum into engaging, impactful pedagogy that ensures deep learning and positive outcomes for students across all age and ability ranges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning lesson sequences that meet individual learning needs and ensuring students make progress that meets or exceeds national benchmarks.
- Evaluating student progress and providing clear, constructive feedback in line with school policy.
- Acting as a proactive member of the Faculty, contributing to curriculum plans, and assuming responsibility for a tutor group.
- Maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, implementing school behavior policies consistently, and participating in the school appraisal process.
- Actively promoting the welfare of students and adhering to all child protection legislation and school policies.
About you
You are an enthusiastic and dedicated educator with a clear passion for mathematics and a genuine commitment to sharing that spark with young people. As a qualified teacher with QTS, you possess the skills necessary to teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring that every student is both supported and challenged. This role is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher.

This is a warm and friendly school with a family feel where
each child is appreciated and cared for who they are, as well
as what they achieve and go on to become.
Being a smaller than average secondary school, our size is
definitely our strength. We pride ourselves on being a kind
and caring student focussed school, where every member of
staff makes it their business to get to know each child as
soon as they enter the Marlwood family.
Our pastoral care is second to none. Our dedicated pastoral
staff work very closely with students to understand their
needs and provide the very best support and care. After all,
happy children are more likely to be successful children!
Marlwood has recently received investment that is funding a
facelift of the school to include new classrooms for art,
design technology and science. The school also benefits
from expansive grounds including tennis courts, astro pitch
and a multi-purpose playing field. There is a real sense of
