What skills and experience we're looking for

North Bradley CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a positive and enthusiastic MDSA to join their team. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

The Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime period, supporting the school’s ethos and policies at all times. The role involves supervising children in dining and recreational areas, encouraging good behaviour, and promoting a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include preparing and clearing dining areas, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring equipment and spaces are used safely and effectively. The post holder will respond to minor incidents, provide basic first aid where appropriate, and report any concerns regarding pupils’ health, wellbeing or behaviour in line with safeguarding procedures. Effective communication with children and colleagues is essential, alongside the ability to motivate pupils and build positive relationships within the school community. Candidates should demonstrate strong organisational skills, flexibility, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of children, ideally with experience in an educational setting. The role also requires participation in training and ongoing professional development, ensuring high standards of conduct, safeguarding awareness, and continuous improvement.
