Southwick is a very special Church of England primary school in the village of Southwick, near Trowbridge. The school as we know it, was established in 1869 to provide an education based on moral and religious instruction for the poor families of Southwick.

Southwick Primary School are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to support our children to have a calm and enjoyable lunchtime. Successful applicants will have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting and caring for children whilst engaging in varied lunchtime activities. Enthusiasm and ability to relate to children is essential. In return we can offer an inclusive and caring ethos, enthusiastic and well-behaved children and a supportive school community.

Some of your duties will include,

  • Supporting children to collect and eat their lunch   

  • Ensuring the lunch hall is a calm, pleasant space for all children   

  • Assisting in meeting pupils’ pastoral needs for praise, comfort, encouragement, reassurance and care  

  • Taking responsibility for the welfare and hygiene of children  

  • Carrying out domestic duties such as tidying up, ensuring all areas of the lunch hall are kept clean and ready for use 

You will be someone who is,

  • Experienced in cleaning  

  • Willing to ‘muck in’ 

  • Able to work flexibly and be a real team player  

  • Child-centred 

  • Energetic, adaptable, reliable and friendly

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
