We have an MDSA vacancy that might be perfect for you!

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a committed team focused on pupil wellbeing. We promote positive behaviour, a growth mindset and collaboration.

  • To be responsible for the supervision of all pupil behavior during the lunch break, in the playground, or other areas of the school as required by the Headteacher.
  • Confidence to work through primary age range (4-11 yrs old)
  • To be responsible for the pupil’s care as necessary, depending on Key Stage e.g. taking them to the toilet, providing comfort, dealing with accidents, being alert to signs that a pupil is unwell or distressed.
  • Encourage positive play and games on the playground through interaction with children to motivate them.
  • To share in school ethos of promoting a positive approach to behavior management. Use the school’s policy and procedures for behaviour.
  • To supervise the movement of pupils to and from dining areas, classrooms, playgrounds,
  • To give minor first aid to pupils, requesting assistance when needed with injuries or illness. Liaising with the head teacher on welfare matters and injuries that cause concern.
  • To report all accidents, ensuring that the procedure for recording accidents in the accident book is followed.
  • Keep children safe and follow all safeguarding procedures
  • To identify and report any unauthorised visitors on school premises
  • Promote good table manners and eating habits
  • Set up and clear away tables before and after the serving / eating of food.
  • To foster pupil’s self-esteem and independence, assisting pupils where necessary
  • Assist with the serving of food if required
  • Clean the floor around the tables to ensure good hygiene
  • Promote healthy eating and engage in discussion with children regarding their lunches.
