Join our team at Carclaze Community Primary School
At Carclaze, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We are looking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated and highly motivated **Medical Learning Assistant** to join our inclusive team and provide personalised support for a child with significant medical and physical needs.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and families and who is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, our SENDCo, medical professionals and the wider inclusion team to ensure the child is fully supported throughout the school day.
### The role will include:
* Providing one-to-one support for a child with complex medical and physical needs.
* Supporting learning, communication and independence within the classroom.
* Undertaking personal care and intimate care with dignity and sensitivity.
* Using manual handling equipment, including hoists (full training will be provided where required).
* Monitoring the child's health, wellbeing and progress, keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues.
* Supporting social inclusion, playtimes, lunchtimes and educational visits.
* Working collaboratively with school staff, external professionals and the child's family to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
### We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience of supporting children, ideally within a school or care setting.
* Is calm, caring and patient, with a positive and flexible approach.
* Can build trusting relationships with children while promoting independence and self-esteem.
* Is confident working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding.
* Is willing to undertake training in areas including manual handling, medical procedures and intimate care where necessary.
