Medical Officer job summary
We are looking to appoint a qualified medical professional to have overall responsibility for the provision of health services and the maintenance of related records within our happy, successful school. The ideal applicant will be someone with a recognised medical qualification who has relevant school experience in a similar role. They will be confident, reliable and possess strong communication skills. They will have the ability to absorb new knowledge and learn new skills, staying abreast of current NHS and Government guidelines. The role of the School Medical Officer is pivotal to the day to day running of Waddesdon School, working in partnership with school leaders to create an environment that promotes the health and well-being of our students. The post covers a broad field of requirements. However, is not instead of students visiting their GP or other specialist health professionals. The postholder must not exceed the parameters of the School Medical Officer position, but provide general support for students when needed. They will be able to cope with potentially stressful situations and occasional physically demanding procedures where required. Strong attention to detail is a must, due to the important administrative element to this position.

Waddesdon School is an oversubscribed all ability 11-18 school, set in rural Buckinghamshire. The school is 30 minutes away from Oxford and also within easy commuting distance from Milton Keynes. there are just over 1000 students on roll, including 300 in the Sixth Form.
