Medical Support Assistant
Contract: Part Time/Fixed Term until 31/08/2025
Site: Queen Katharine Academy
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-2pm or 9.30am-2.30pm.
39 weeks per annum (term time plus 1 week)
Salary: Pathway 2 (Point 4) £13,315 - £14,230 (FTE £23,114-£24,702)

Due to continued growth, Queen Katharine Academy are looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated Medical Support Assistant to join the Team. The Medical Support Assistant will play a crucial role in providing medical assistance and support to students, ensuring well-being and safety within the Academy.
The post holder will be responsible for a variety of operational and administrative duties associated with student welfare and wellbeing. These include the following
Establishing and maintaining good relationships with students, parents/ carers, colleagues and other professionals.
Encouraging good relations and effective dialogue between parents / carers, families, teachers and other professionals in relation to student health, welfare and wellbeing.
Holding and administering medication / first aid as agreed by parents. This includes maintaining all relevant supplies
Administering first aid as required and record, monitor and follow-up incidents as necessary
Maintain the Medical Room, first aid kits and supplies to ensure all are available and in good order
Provide confidential health advice to individual students as required
Supervise sick and injured students, contacting parents as necessary and arranging hospitalisation or return home
Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the Academy’s policies and procedures
Keep up to date with Health and Safety regulations and maintain a current First Aid Certificate

The successful candidate must:
Hold an up to date First Aid Qualification or be willing to undertake appropriate training

Have the ability to form strong relationships with students and colleagues across the Academy.
