- Full time: Basic working hours are from 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, although some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business. This is an all year-round post. There will be some evening and weekend working required to support department and whole College events where there will be a requirement to attend.

What skills and experience we're looking for
Plumpton College is seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative MI Systems and Reporting Manager to lead the management and development of the College’s core Management Information Systems.
The MI Systems and Reporting Manager will be responsible for the strategic management of the College’s information systems and reporting infrastructure. This includes ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of institutional data, developing reporting solutions that support evidence-based decision-making, and maintaining compliance with funding, audit, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous service improvement.
About the Role
As the MI Systems and Reporting Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational management of the College’s MIS platforms, ensuring accurate and timely data to support funding, statutory reporting, curriculum planning and organisational performance.
The postholder will work closely with the MIS team and wider Registry and Exams team, overseeing system development and ensuring that Plumpton College maintains high standards of data quality, compliance and reporting.
You will:
- Act as the College’s lead specialist for MIS platforms, ensuring systems remain compliant, secure and fit for purpose.
- Lead the annual MIS development plan and support cross-college priorities.
- Work with our established MIS team, providing leadership, supervision and performance management.
- Oversee statutory reporting, funding reports and internal performance dashboards.
- Maintain strong internal controls to support data quality, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee system configuration, permissions, workflows and integrations across MIS platforms.
- Lead system upgrade cycles, testing and the implementation of enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and reporting capability.
- Provide expert guidance to curriculum and support teams on data requirements and processes.
- Develop and deliver user training, guidance materials and system documentation.
- Maintain documentation of MIS processes, data flows and system rules.
- Contribute to the development of policies relating to data governance and compliance.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical MIS expertise with leadership capability and a passion for improving data systems and organisational insight.
About You
We are looking for a strategic thinker and experienced MIS professional who can lead systems development while supporting colleagues across the College to make effective use of data.
Essential:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in data management, information systems or a related field.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in MIS, data governance or related areas.
- Significant Further Education MIS management experience.
- Experience leading and developing teams within a data-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- High digital literacy, including experience working with MIS platforms and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience implementing or developing MIS systems and integrations.
- Experience developing dashboards or reporting tools to support organisational performance.
