- We have grown to a four-form entry school and now operate across three sites (including Spencer Nursery School).
- We follow the OFSTED framework and are committed to safeguarding, inclusion and high-quality care for every pupil.
About the Role
As a Midday Supervisor you will work under the direction of our Senior Midday Supervisor to provide calm, consistent supervision during the lunch period. This is a vital role in ensuring pupils are safe, happy and engaged.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising pupils in the dining hall, on the playground (and in classrooms in poor weather).
- Encouraging purposeful play and social skills activities to help pupils build friendships and confidence.
- Supporting hygiene routines (for example handwashing) and ensuring areas are tidied after play.
- Dealing with minor first aid and toileting needs, and reporting incidents to the Senior Midday Supervisor.
- Helping maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere at lunchtime.
Hours of Work:
- 11:45am-12:45pm
- 12:15pm-1:15pm
- 12:25pm-1:25pm
- 12:30pm-1:30pm
Please note there will not be any opportunity to work additional hours in this role.
The successful candidate may be required to work at either site.
About You
We are looking for someone who will embody our values and bring patience, calm and fairness to the role. In particular you will:
- Have experience of working with primary-aged pupils and relate well to children from diverse backgrounds.
- Be able to organise simple games and encourage purposeful play that supports pupils’ social development.
- Be patient, calm and firm but fair when managing behaviour.
- Be a positive role model and a team player, working cooperatively with staff and responding to direction from the Senior Midday Supervisor.
- Be willing to undertake training (first aid will be provided if required) and to follow school policies on safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to equality of opportunity.

Located close to Hackbridge Station, our school has been at the heart of our community for over 100 years.
Having been a popular three-form entry primary school with a maintained nursery for many years, we became a four-form entry primary school, with maintained nurseries, on a split site in the autumn 2019. In addition, we are federated with Spencer Nursery School, who provide childcare and education from birth to 4 years, meaning across our federation we provide education from 0-11 years.
The primary school is based across two sites; Hackbridge Corner and London Road, with Spencer Nursery School on a third site nearby. All three sites are within short walking distance of each other and staff work collaboratively across all sites.
Our new London Road site was officially opened to pupils in November 2019 and is the first Passivhaus Plus school in the United Kingdom. Across the school, pupils benefit from use of facilities at both sites and we were very excited to gain a playing field when we opened the London Road site.
