Thank you for your interest in joining our team as a Midday Supervisor.

Someries Junior School is a welcoming community which pupils and staff enjoy being part of. We aspire for all of our children to succeed and we have high expectations for everyone. We are seeking an enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to ensure that children have a safe and enjoyable lunch break. Applicants will be required to undertake training to become a first aider.

The role involves supervising children in the dining room and, afterwards, on the playground or field. Applicants need to be a good listener, have a good manner with children and promote our values by their own conduct.

You will need to be confident, able to act on your initiative, patient and enjoy working with children. Safeguarding training and induction will be provided before employment commences.

You will need to be able to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.

The job is a great opportunity to begin a career working with children - a number of our previous midday supervisors are now teaching assistants.

  • an ethos of team working and mutual support
  • supportive parents, carers and governors
  • senior leaders that create a culture where all are valued and can thrive

Hours of work are: Monday to Friday, 11:50am - 1:35pm - during school term time only.

The pay rate is £12.65 per hour and the actual annual (pro rata) salary for 8.75 hours is £4859.18.

Closing date: Sunday 16 November 2025 - but please apply as soon as possible
