Midday Supervisor job summary

Lift Noel Park is recruiting for a midday supervisor to join our school. The role is Monday - Friday 11.00 am - 1.00 pm.

Lunchtimes are more than just a break. They're a chance for students to connect with friends, recharge and enjoy being part of a welcoming community. We're looking for someone who cares about creating a calm, safe and positive environment where every child can thrive.

You'll guide students during lunchtime, help them follow school routines, and make sure everyone feels included. If you're patient, observant and enjoy working with young people, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key responsibilities

You will:

  • supervise students in dining areas, playgrounds and around the school during lunchtimes, making sure they're safe and following school expectations;
  • support positive behaviour by encouraging respect, kindness and good choices;
  • spot any concerns, whether that's a safety issue, a friendship problem or a child who needs extra support, and take action or pass this on to the right person;
  • help organise and supervise lunchtime activities or clubs;
  • keep dining spaces clean and tidy, clearing tables and dealing with spills; and
  • work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to share any incidents or concerns.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

  • has experience supervising children or young people, whether as a parent, carer or in another setting;
  • stays calm under pressure and can handle busy or unexpected moments with confidence;
  • communicates clearly and warmly with students of all ages;
  • works well as part of a team and builds trusted relationships with colleagues;
  • is organised, reliable and able to juggle different tasks at once; and
  • shows patience, empathy and a genuine interest in helping young people feel happy and secure.

Experience working in a school or running group activities would be useful, but it's not essential. What matters most is your positive attitude and your commitment to making lunchtimes a great part of the school day. Does that sound like you?
