Midday Supervisor job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in the development of Westgate Academy. The Academy invites applications for a midday supervisor in supporting our children at lunchtime. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team and the successful candidate will be friendly and have experience of working with children, preferably in a school setting. Good communication skills and the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs of our children is essential.

The role will involve working as part of a team to carry out duties including:

  • encouraging the children to eat and enjoy their lunch,
  • setting out and clearing away the dining hall/eating areas,
  • serving hot meals,
  • playground supervision,
  • helping the children to play safely,
  • initiating playground games and activities, and
  • classroom supervision during wet playtimes.


The hours for this vacancy are 11.25 per week/38 weeks per year (term time only), and are Monday to Friday, between 11.45am and 2pm.
