We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant to help make lunchtime the highlight of every child's day! You'll supervise play and dining, promote positive behaviour, support pupil wellbeing, and help create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment as part of our caring school community.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervising pupils immediately before, during and after the lunchtime period, including those having school meals and those bringing packed lunches.
- Supporting the maintenance of a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment by encouraging pupils to clear away trays, litter and personal belongings responsibly.
- Supervising pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities.
- Assisting pupils with any difficulties that may arise during lunchtime and providing appropriate support where necessary.
Pay range:
- NJC SCP 3 - 4
- Actual Salary: £4,449.41 - £4,519.24 (FTE: NJC SCP 3 - 4 £25,614 - £26,016)
- 7.5 hours a week, 38 weeks a year
- Part time/Term Time Only/Permanent.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Basic first aid awareness (or willingness to train), good organisation, and a general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent), with prior school-based experience desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils and staff.
- Ability and experience of managing behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies.
- A caring, proactive approach to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing with up to date training.
- Teamwork skills with the confidence to work independently when required.
