Queen’s Crescent School is a two-form entry primary school, based in Chippenham with over 400 pupils on roll across 14 classes. In 2014 the school became a single academy trust and subsequently joined Pickwick Academy Trust in 2017 as one of the four founding schools. Queen’s Crescent is a vibrant school and our energetic, caring and positive staff are committed to providing the best primary education for all of our children. Children learn best when they feel happy and safe, so we aim to provide a nurturing environment that allows children to succeed but also feel safe to make mistakes along the way. In such an atmosphere, we believe that every child can achieve his or her full potential, irrespective of ability or background.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, delivered by means of stimulating learning enquiries that build on prior knowledge and skills, preparing each individual for the next phase of their education and life beyond school. We are currently investing significantly in our IT infrastructure and technology to support the delivery of the curriculum enabling our teachers to teach in new and dynamic ways which in turn results in fantastic outcomes for our children.
Queen’s Crescent School has an opportunity to appoint two Midday Supervisory Assistants who can build up happy and caring relationships with the children at lunch times and supervise them (full training will be given).
We are keen to hear from individuals who are patient, calm, organised and adaptable. Being able to work as part of a team is essential, as well as being able to use your own initiative. A positive outlook and a sense of humour is essential.
Duties will include the supervision of pupils, either in the lunch hall or other areas in the school, whilst they are eating lunch or taking part in lunchtime activities. Associated duties will include clearing and cleaning of dining hall and equipment including light manual handling.
The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This will involve undertaking annual Safeguard training and using school reporting systems for any Safeguard concerns.
