The Belfry Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring midday supervisory assistant to join our staff team. Hours of work, 1.5 hrs per day (7.5 hours per week), 11:45 to 13:15, Monday to Friday.
The post involves:
- Supervising children in the hall or in class during lunchtime and at play on the field after lunch.
- Helping to maintain a good atmosphere. Encourage good eating habits and assist younger children where necessary.
- General assistance in the dining area as necessary, e.g. wiping up spillages to ensure a safe environment.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils while in play areas, the dining room, classrooms and movement of pupils to and from the dining room.
- Helping to set up and clear away tables in dining room.
We are looking for someone who is:
- able to work as a supportive team-player
- enjoys working with children, and is calm and caring
- reliable
- able to communicate with children and adults
- able to exert authority and give instructions in a confident manner
The successful candidate will be willing to undergo first aid training, and thereafter administer first aid to pupils, and contact parents as required. Also, to attend other training opportunities as required.
