What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and nurturing teacher with a strong understanding of both the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 curriculum. The successful candidate will support children through the important transition from Reception into Year 1, creating a stimulating and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
The successful candidate will:
- Have high expectations for all pupils and a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching across Reception and Year 1
- Understand how children learn and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Foster early literacy, numeracy, communication and social development through both play-based and structured learning opportunities
- Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and accelerate progress
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Work collaboratively and contribute positively to school life
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be enthusiastic, reflective and committed to continuous professional development
- Be excited to help shape and drive our continued school improvement journey
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all pupils
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
