What skills and experience we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status
• A good honours degree
• A secure knowledge of the curriculum in EYFS and KS1

• The ability to use ICT effectively within and outside the classroom

• A commitment to innovation and the pursuit of excellence

• Understanding the need to achieve good or better progress for all children and the strategies necessary to achieve that goal

• Ability to manage and lead a subject across the school.

• Enjoyment of teaching children and enabling them to achieve and succeed

• A knowledge of and ability to use data and an understanding of its importance for planning and teaching

• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to deal positively with children and parents

What the school offers its staff

This exciting position is based at Orchard Grove Primary School in Taunton. While the school build is being completed the role will be based at IKB in Wellington.

IKB opened in September 2020 as a brand-new school on the recently built Longforth Farm development in Wellington. The school was built to cater to the growing numbers of families moving into the Wellington area, and particularly for this development. In 2020 IKB welcomed its first cohort of Reception children. Since then, the school has grown organically, one year group at a time to its current size of primary aged children from Reception to Year 4, inclusive of its thriving IKB Bright Sparks nursery provision.
