Mobile Cook job summary
Are you a skilled and enthusiastic cook with a passion for delivering nutritious, freshly prepared meals? We are looking for a Mobile Cook to join our catering team, working across multiple schools within our academy trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting healthy eating and well-being across our school communities.
About the Role:As a Mobile Cook, you’ll be responsible for supporting school kitchens across our trust – covering staff absence, assisting during busy periods, and ensuring continuity of service. You’ll travel between sites as required (mileage reimbursed), bringing your skills and positive attitude to a variety of teams and school settings. Your role will primarily be in the Doncaster region, between Brooke Primary School, Marshland Primary School, New Pastures Primary School, Milton School and Adwick Primary School. Occasional travel to Hull may be required.
Key Responsibilities:-
Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals in line with school food standards

Assist with menu preparation, portion control, and allergen management

Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment

Work flexibly across multiple school sites within the trust

Liaise with on-site kitchen staff and managers to ensure smooth service delivery

Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures

Experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a school or similar environment but not essential

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential – mileage paid)

Ability to adapt quickly to different teams and kitchen settings

Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting young people’s well-being
